Decorating takes time!

We've been in our new home for exactly one year and three months.  Decorating has been a huge challenge for me.  With 18 foot ceilings and an open design, I've struggled to figure out what works in the space-- and as a result, it's taken quite a while to pull it all together!

The house is not nearly finished.  We haven't even started to tackle the dining room, den or or master bedroom...but it's a start!

I wanted to share a few photos with you of some of the new additions.

Richard's office:
Richard frequently works from home so he wanted to create a space that's efficient, but has a fun look.  We found this modular desk system HERE that works great for his needs. Now if he would only keep it neat! We traded out our old beige rug (which will get handed down to my son) for this gorgeous blue checked rug from Helen Thomas in Andover, MA.  I love their selection of unusual rugs! We also found a stunning navy leather chair on major sale! It's the perfect size and scale for the room (which is small).

When you walk into the office, there's a wall on the left that was made for these fabulous Debbie Shirley prints (under $30 each!) that we also bought from Helen Thomas (they ship too).  If you're from Massachusetts, you might recognize some of the landmark eateries.
I picked up some inexpensive frames at A.C. Moore and voila, a gallery wall!  The room still needs some additional decorating so stay tuned for the finishing touches.
The first floor great room got a make-over with artwork from Jules Place in Boston.  Julie (owner) came to the house to get ideas and measure. She is SO talented and has an eye for exactly the right piece for each space!
I love the boldness of this piece!
Find these white leather chairs for under $300 each HERE.
Pillows HERE.
These Michelle Williams pieces from Jules Place give depth and color with the mix of metal and glass.
The space feels so much warmer with color on the walls!
We also bought this fun Johnny Taylor piece for the loft from Jules Place It makes me smile!
Last, our foyer needed a little love.  I had a few pieces of my cousin Karen's artwork (she's an artist -find her here), which worked perfectly for the entrance.  Similar foyer light here.
Stay tuned for more decorating as things progress!
Hopefully it won't take me another year to finish off the rest of the house!

Thanks for stopping by!
