These basics will never go out of style, are versatile and work for most body shapes.
1. A fitted leather jacket...fabulous with jeans, over a dress or with a skirt. Look for quality leather in a neutral color.
2. Dark wash straight leg jeans.
3. Silk blouse that flows without being too swingy. I love the color, cut and neckline of this blouse.
4. Pencil skirt that hugs the body without clinging. Look for a fabric with structure and weight.
5. Sheath dress
6. Nude pumps--they'll go with everything in your closet and elongate the leg. What more could you ask for?

If you're trying to define your waistline, the right dresses can really do the trick.
1. Use color-blocking with the darker color on the bottom or on the sides of the dress to create a waistline and draw attention to just the right places.
2. Use strategically placed patterns to create a sexy hour-glass shape. The striped and print dresses both give the illusion of a small waistline.
3. Whoever developed ruching was a genius! Look for dresses that have ruching around the waist to camouflage and cinch.
