Life is weird, right?
This blog starts out with a very nervous woman (ME) waiting to get a mammogram last summer. I found a lump and I was a wreck. The kind woman sitting next to me must have taken pity as she started talking to me. We chatted for a bit and soon discovered commonalities. She owns a boutique in Brookline, MA called The Studio.. I told her about Uncommon Threads and my style blog and we exchanged cards. Her name is Marcie Brawer
Last fall, Marcie and her two business partners Sandy and Ilene paid me a visit at Uncommon Threads bearing armloads of clothing donations. We chatted for hours like old friends and decided to collaborate on a blog. Isn't life crazy yet wonderful?
So I bring you four amazing outfits from The Studio in Brookline, MA. If you see something you like, but don't live in the Boston area, they'll gladly ship!
I have to admit that it took all of my willpower not to purchase each of these stunning outfits!
First up is this GORGEOUS "Chanel like" open fringe sweater.
The neutral color goes with everything, but I especially like it paired with black and burgundy. $359. This vegan bag is like having two bags in one since the tote comes with a bag inside! Only $55! And why have a few pearls when you can have oodles? This FABULOUS necklace by Zzan is $175
And last but not least, these luxurious chunky heel suede pump is by Cordani. $225
Ready for outfit #2?
I am SO in love with this one!! Notice how I capitalize my emotions?
This look is perfect for just about every occasion from work to dinner out. The luxurious tie-front sweater is such a great length $195, and the faux leopard skirt ($115) is so fabulous! I'm wearing another necklace by Zzan--this one is gold links on leather (so cool) and my Latico Crosby textured bucket tote is $199.
These Bos and Co. over the knee waterproof suede boots are $210 and SO worth the money...they're like walking on air!
Next up I'm doing the cold shoulder thing.
Don't you just LOVE this swingy cold shoulder tunic that's long enough to wear with leggings? These gorgeous gray faux suede leggings are super comfy and a nice change from basic black.
Cold shoulder tunic sweater $119
Grey faux suede leggings $79
Lariat-styled tanzenite necklace (stunner!) $175
Fly London's fringed booties (totally adorable!) $210
Couldn't resist adding a little faux fur!
And because the holiday season is soon upon us, I had to show off something sparkly!
This outfit is so elegant! The jeweled sweater is by OSFA from France $199. I paired it with wide leg ponte trousers $79 and a stunning Whiting and Davis evening bag $85.
You could add blingy jewelry, but I chose to keep the sweater the focal point.
Switch up a denim jacket and these amazing Bos and Co patent leather combat boots, and you've turned"dressy" into "casual". These boots are so comfortable I didn't want to take them off. They'll even hold up trudging through snow and slush! $210.
So if you're in the Greater Boston area, you MUST take a trip
to The Studio! But if you're not close by, feel free to give them
a call as the pieces shown here can be ordered (unless sold out).
Who knew a mammogram would bring me new friends and a
fabulous new store to shop at? And by the way, my results were negative (whew!).
XO Susan
