Car shopping, Five Corners and the olive dress

Saturday, August 15, 2015

What a day! Richard and I spent the afternoon car shopping, which is absolutely torturous. My 2007 Honda CRV is my buddy. I love that car, but I know that now is the time to trade it in given all the driving I do. We spent hours in dealerships listening to the salespeople give their spiel.  "What can we do that would close the deal NOW?"...and how about this one "don't you want to save money?'  Just shoot me.

By 5:00 we were ready for a drink and a relaxing dinner, so we looked up recommendations nearby on Trip Advisor and hit the jackpot with Five Corners Kitchen in Marblehead, MA.  I could go on and on about how the service was spot on, the food amazing and the atmosphere so relaxing (but also lively). Bottom line...5 stars.  The best part of the meal was the dessert...sticky toffee pudding made with brown butter, caramel and vanilla gelato. YUM.  Yes, there is a very good reason why my clothes aren't fitting well these days!

So on to the outfit part of the blog. It was 90 degrees today and I was CAR SHOPPING (big ugh) so a casual lightweight dress and flat sandals was the attire. I've had this olive green cotton/linen weave dress for years and it always works when I need to be cool and comfy.  Similar here

A simple necklace, similar here, and a silver watch paired with a few
Alex and Ani beaded bracelets were pretty much it for jewelry. I hate to wear heavy
pieces on a hot day.   The straw tote works great for storing my gear,
 including a sweater (I freeze in a/c).

We took a walk after dinner so no heels for me. Similar here and here .

Hope you're having a great weekend!
