The hoop earring is so under-rated. It's the perfect accessory to just about any outfit because of it's versatility. The simple classic hoop works with everything from jeans and a tee to a work dress. Going out? Try an embellished hoop for a classy & sophisticated look. Funk things up a bit with a geometric or double loop hoop. Taking a trip? A pair of hoops will be your default earring.
Play with sizes and widths to land your most flattering style. If you have a round or full face, try an elongated, oval or geometric shape. The classic hoop will also work for you, but careful of small hoops that can look out of proportion. For a thinner (or small) face shape, oversized hoops can be tricky as they can look overwhelming.
Does your wardrobe contain a great pair of hoops?

"The" shoe to add to your spring collection is the metallic flat. Choose a style that has a slightly narrowed toe (doesn't have to be super pointy, but not round!) so that it will transition well from dressy to casual. You can wear this shoe with just about everything from jeans, to a work outfit, to a dress! Whether you choose gold, silver or rose-gold, this shoe will take you everywhere and in comfort!

This winter feels endless. We've had snowstorm after snowstorm for weeks now and I'm getting a little stir crazy! I've had way too many snow-days lounging around the house in pjs pants or my old sweats and I'm feeling frumpy. Today's post is to give you ideas for upgraded "snow-day" outfits...comfy and cozy to wear inside, but with a little added style to lift your spirits. If you're getting into a snowbound style rut like me, try stepping things up a notch by pairing sweatpants with a tee and oversized cardigan (instead of a sweatshirt), or wear leggings (denim leggings shown here) with a long loose sweater. I love these Ugg slippers because they look like moccasins, but are warm and fuzzy inside. Simple jewelry such as stud or hoop earrings and a casual watch will make you feel "put together". And don't forget to complete your look with cookies and hot chocolate! Stay warm and stylish! Here's to warmer weather and sunshine SOON!

I have a friend who only wears neutral colors---mainly black. Her wardrobe consists of black pants, sweaters, skirts, shoes, bags, etc. And guess what....she looks fabulous all the time! I asked her if she ever gets bored with her wardrobe and she answered an emphatic "NO". She never has an issue getting dressed in the morning (everything goes!) and she always feels chic.
I have to say that there is something so polished, sophisticated and even sexy about wearing black....not to mention it's slimming. So how do you avoid getting bored with the color? Here are my tips.
- Look for different shades of black...mix a dark charcoal with jet black.
- Play with textures...nubby fabrics, lace, leather, fur, chiffon, etc. This will give your outfit dimension.
- Pop in shiny metals like a gold watch or an embellished bag or shoes for instant pizzaz. Black is so easy to accesorize!
- Buy good pieces. With an all black wardrobe you don't need a lot of clothes, but they should be high quality and look high-end.
- Mix black with other dark colors such as navy blue---gorgeous combo!
- If black doesn't work with your coloring try charcoal gray, which is a bit softer.
This way of dressing is not for everyone, but for those women who feel their best in black it can work!

I recently stepped WAY out of my comfort zone and bought a pair of J. Crew ripped black jeans. Although super distressed is not a style I'm usually drawn to, these jeans seemed to work and made me feel a bit "edgy". Here are a few ways I plan to wear them--both dressed up and down.
Have you ever bought something that pushed your sense of style?

Does your spring wardrobe need a little "freshening up"? Here are some gorgeous pieces that you will love wearing!
- The floral dress---floral is very on-trend this season and this beautiful dress can be worn to work with a jacket or dress it up for a summer wedding or party.
- The striped tee--a wardrobe staple! This tee can be worn year round and looks casual yet polished with jeans, a skirt or under a jacket. Feel a little daring? Mix a striped top with a printed skirt (a blog for another day!).
- The cork and metallic bag. I am in love with this combination...so beautiful and chic for spring and such a nice substitute for a straw bag!
- The white trench. Is this coat to die for or what? Need I say more?
- The nude watch. This fabulous watch (like nude pumps) will go with everything and the light color is perfect for the season.
- Gray jeans---a nice change from blue denim. Keep things light with a simple white tee or silk blouse and add a splash of turquoise or coral with your accessories.
- The neutral print skirt. This skirt is gorgeous and the neutral pattern goes with so many different colors! Love it with cream, white, coral or turquoise.
- The coral silk top. Coral is a color that works for almost everyone. This top would look amazing with white jeans and a metallic shoe or sandal (up next).
- The soft metallic shoe. Although metallics are trending this spring and summer, it's really become quite a classic and wardrobe staple. I love this soft shade---it's just the right touch of bling!

This gorgeous blazer will go with just about everything in your closet. Choose a nude shade that works well with your skin tone and look for a style that doesn't scream "corporate". I like the laid back look of an open front blazer. Pair with other neutrals, prints or a pop of color---the possibilities are endless! I also love nude with black for a sophisticated chic look. You can't go wrong with this versatile piece!
