I'm a huge watch fan and one of my favorite lines is Michele. I have a beautiful Michele watch that Richard gave to me on our 10th wedding anniversary. Although I wear it all the time, I also like to have a few "bang around" watches that I don't have to worry about.

I was in Michael's Crafts the other night picking up a frame, and by the checkout counter was a huge rack of watches--all ranging from $9.99 to $14.99! But what really caught my eye was this black "jelly" watch that closely resembles a Michele. No it's not exactly the same, but isn't it cute? This watch will be perfect for working out, hiking or any other activity. So of course I bought it and just had to get another one since there was a "buy one, get one free" sale! Who can resist that? I got 2 watches for $14.99 ($7.50 each!).

The rhinestone detailing is pretty impressive!

Sometimes the best stuff can be found at the darndest places!

The next time you're in Michael's, skip the crafts and go watch shopping!

Blue print dress

A super comfortable dress is a closet must-have. This Betsy Johnson blue and black floral sheath is incredibly soft, moves with you (no cling!) and doesn't wrinkle. Best of all, it can be worn almost all year round.

I found similar styles for you which I love. They're all $100 or less AND have sleeves---now that's a concept!

I paired the dress with a structured black leather bag and suede booties. Did you know you can wear your booties right into spring?

A cape or poncho is such a chic piece to throw on for added warmth and coverage.

As you can see, I'm not wearing much jewelry. I like a print to stand out on it's own. However, I am wearing one of my most treasured pieces, a Michele watch that Richard gave me for our 10th wedding anniversary.

Keep it simple, keep it real...this has become my style motto as I get older. Less is more.

The fall cape

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I mean, what's not to like? The trees are ablaze in vibrant shades of orange and red, pumpkins are everywhere and it's time to break out the fall clothes!

This fall, I'm all about the cape. I love this piece because it's so easy to wear--just throw it on and go. Plus it's the perfect weight for layering and it works for every body type.

I'm wearing a plaid cape over a black sweater dress paired with tall leather boots with "just enough" of a heel so I can walk without stumbling (did I ever tell you how graceful I am?). A tassel necklace gives an easy casual look

I can't get enough of this minimalist structured bag by Väska...it looks amazing with everything!

This shoot was taken at Gianna Design in North Andover--they have the prettiest things! Don''t you just love this pillow? My daughter has a black lab---I think I just found a Christmas gift!

Happy fall--don't eat too much pumpkin pie!

The updated work dress

Here's a modern work dress idea that will take you from the office to dinner.

I love the mix of tweed and faux leather on this Laundry by Shelli Segal dress--the detailing adds a touch of "chic" yet it's totally work appropriate.

Laundry is a fabulous line---their fit and styling really works for so many women.

Although this dress is sold out, here is a similar version.

Working hard at Gianna Design Group in North Andover, MA. Cathy and I loved shooting here...the home furnishings are just gorgeous and there were so many beautiful spaces to photograph.

This dress has amazing lines--I love the defined waistband and elongating vertical stripe. When dress shopping, look for these types of details that create curves in the right places.

I paired this dress with a structured bag by Väska, sold at La Mia Moda Boutique and Aquatalia leather and suede wedge ankle boots that add a little "edge" to the outfit. Pumps or high boots would work as well.

Final check before I head out for dinner after a long work day.

No wrinkles--another reason to love this dress!
