Unique finds in Rhode Island

It was tough to come home last weekend after a magical family reunion in Little Compton, RI.  The area is stunning---a spectacular mix of  lush green farmland and picture perfect ocean views. I can't remember when I've relaxed so much.

Oh to be back swinging on this hammock!
Paradise

You  may not think of this location as shopper's haven, but there are some really fabulous galleries and boutiques in the area. And if you like to scout out unique pieces, I highly recommend Gallery 4, a one-stop for everything from jewelry to Oriental rugs.  Several years ago (on another visit), I discovered this gem which is located nearby in Tiverton Four Corners and is home to Susan Freda Studios,  Silk Road Traders and Am Kreb Arts.

 Drool!!
 One of my favorite necklaces!

The first time I visited the gallery, I fell in love with this blue lapis ring. I hemmed and hawed about whether or not I should spend the money on something I really didn't need, but my daughter Alyssa persuaded me to go for it--and she was right.  It was one of the wisest purchases I've made since I wear this ring constantly and get so many compliments on it!

When Alyssa got married (almost 3 years ago now), she bought me this stunning necklace, designed by Susan Freda, as my "mum of honor gift".

In addition to jewelry, Susan Freda also creates amazing metal sculptures--of course my favorite are the dresses!

This room has my name all over it!

Definitely worth the trip and just 40 minutes from Newport!
Check out these websites too---many of their pieces are available online.
