I love it when clothes have more than one use, just like this Covered Perfectly cascading vest. Here I'm wearing it with leggings and a Covered Perfectly black tee (LOVE their tees!). It's a super simple outfit, but the vest gives it pizzaz.

I accessorized with large gold hoop earrings and a stretchy gold cuff (similar HERE and HERE).

My boots are by Joan and David--I scoffed them up for just $15.00 at Chic Consignment! Score! Similar HERE--they're not $15, but still a fabulous price!

Now here comes the double duty. This vest easily turns into a scarf! It's super lightweight so there's no bulk or bunching.

It comes in a variety of prints, but I'm a sucker for animal print. I particularly love the rich colors in this one.

Aviator sunglasses keep things sporty.

I also love this scarf for accessorizing a lounging outfit. I'm wearing a Covered Perfectly leisure suit---so comfy for relaxing (and I wear the top separately too!). By the way, I'm reading The Lady and the Panda, written by my dear friend Vicki Croke. Her new book Elephant Company is next on my "to read list".

Vince leather jacket

Vince is one of my favorite lines--it's simple, chic and timeless. I have a few Vince sweaters and dresses which are all fabulous, but their leather jackets are truly amazing.

Vince can be pricey, so I wait for the sales to hit.

I bought this merlot draped front jacket last year at Nordstrom. The leather is glove-soft and the fit impeccable. A great leather jacket is truly an investment piece that you'll wear over and over again.

I expect that the prices will drop at Nordstrom and Neiman's in a month or so (still pricey), but there are other places you can get a great deal too. Check out TJ Maxx and Marshall's, I've seen Vince there on occasion--but The Real Real has them all the time. Check these out HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. Just filter out your size when searching --there are a lot of them available!

I layered the jacket over a simple knit midi-dress (similar HERE and HERE--both on sale!).

My bag is an old stand-by...similar basic black bags HERE and HERE. These black suede boots by Adrienne Vattadini are not only warm, but also very comfy despite the heel.

This tassel necklace is one of my favorites. I wear with everything from jeans and a tee to a dress. Similar styles HERE and HERE.

I went to high school with jewelry designer Aileen Peters and she's as sweet now as she was then! She made this beautiful silver and CZ ring, which can easily pass for a major "rock". Find her stunning pieces online or at Helen Thomas.
