1. A lightweight straw clutch says "summer"!
2. Add a splash of color and fun to your casual outfits with this hot pink cross-over bag.
3. A fabulous white leather handbag is so chic and crisp.
4. One of my new favorite bags is a light turquoise or mint green clutch -- such a beautiful accent to just about any outfit.
5. Go nautical with this fun navy striped bag!

What do "mature" women want in clothing? Many of my clients are not happy with what's in the stores and feel that the designers are not catering to women over 40. Being over 50 (sigh) I totally agree. I feel young at heart but my body doesn't always match up with my 20-something brain. I want to look youthful and stylish but not like I'm trying too hard. I want my clothes to look modern and hip, but there are certain styles that no longer work for me. Here's my wish list. What's on yours?
- SLEEVES!! What is going on with all the sleeveless styles out there? Although I will wear sleeveless from time to time, I am much more comfortable in a sleeve and I don't always want to wear a jacket or cardigan!
- Longer skirt lengths: I think that designers feel as though every woman can wear a mini-skirt. Wrong!! Just above or below the knee is generally the most flattering for most women
Right length but sleeveless, ugh! |
- More structured fabrics. Thin and clingy materials are just plain unflattering. I wish that there were more tops and dresses with flow vs. cling...just saying...
- Comfortable heels: It really is quite a feat (no pun intended!) to find comfortable and stylish heels.
My feet would last about 20 minutes in these |
- Higher rise pants: Yes, Not Your Daughter's Jeans has a high rise line but they're REALLY high and don't work for some women like myself. I would love to see pants and jeans cut a little higher without being matronly. The dreaded muffin-top has crept up on me and I'm not liking it one bit!
- More variety and better styled plus sized clothing: The plus size sections are always so limited and the clothing for the most part, are less stylish than the smaller sized styles.
