I can't live without my leather jacket---ok, leather jackets. I'm addicted! Honestly, a fitted leather jacket is such a wardrobe staple...you can wear it with everything from jeans to a lace dress. It gives off a modern and slightly edgy vibe, which I love. Plus you can wear this jacket almost all year round!

Here I've paired this glove-soft black leather jacket with a simple white sweater, black high rise jeans, pumps and this gorgeous tassel necklace from Love and Pieces (very reasonably priced!).

A metallic clutch (similar) dresses things up by adding a little shine. I love this one too.

Cozy sweater dress

Sweater dresses are one of my favorite things to wear in the cold weather, however finding the right one isn't always an easy task. Some are just too hot (for me anyway) or too clingy. However this Ann Taylor dress is just perfect. The material is thick, so I didn't need a slip or even Spanx! And the short sleeves make it easy to layer with a jacket or cardigan.

I added a glove soft Michael Kors black leather jacket to make things a little edgy

and a black leather bag (similar to the one shown).

I also added a long silver tassel necklace.

And a pair of Aquatalia black wedge booties. Similar here and here-- and on sale!

And voila...a simple, chic, and warm outfit for just about any event.

The little black "sweater" dress

Here's a little black dress (LBD) that's perfect for the colder weather. Introducing, the little black sweater dress! This simple piece can be dressed up or down, worn with boots, heels, or flats and it's so cozy and warm.

I love this dress for work, but it can also be worn to just about any occasion including a holiday party. I stay away from clingy dresses these days. I look for a sweater dress that has a heavy texture and weight to it. I also love cashmere!

The simple style makes it very easy to accessorize. Here' I'm wearing a sparkly tassel necklace (so in this season!). Here are a few that I like (and under $40!)

or scarf (LOVE this one!).

I spiced things up with animal print pumps --these are also fabulous.

This patent leather bag is very old, but it just goes to show you that when you buy a classic

The quilted sweatshirt and structured bag

I love easy casual pieces that can effortlessly transition from day to night like this quilted sweatshirt . (see links to other styles below). The thick soft fabric makes it cozy and warm and the quilted design jazzes things up a bit (a huge step-up from the gym sweatshirt!). I've worn this piece with everything from sneakers and jeans to leather pants and heels!

White after Labor Day and the return of the lattice jacket

I get a lot of questions about wearing white after Labor Day. The rule is, there are no rules anymore...and after all, who made up the rules anyway? Probably a guy.

White is perfectly acceptable to wear pretty much all year round now. Although I personally don't feel comfortable wearing stark white jeans in the dead of winter, I'm not putting them away yet!

Get creative with your white pants this fall---pair them with a suede booties and a chunky sweater or poncho.

Here I've pulled back out the "lattice jacket" which I wore in a previous blog. This time I've paired it with white jeans, a silk tank and a fabulous sparkly tassel necklace for a night-time look.

I wore this outfit out to dinner last week and felt so put-together (the beauty of an amazing and versatile jacket).

A new line to try

If you're looking for a new line to try that's made in the U.S., fits WOMEN not girls, feels SO good on and is reasonably priced--then let me introduce you to Fabrizio-Gianni.

I discovered this line a few months ago and ended up trying their "Shop & DASH" program where you can order 4 or more items to try on in the privacy of your own home. Whatever you like, you can purchase. Everything else goes back postage paid--shopping doesn't get much easier than this!

Usually when I order over the internet I end up keeping just a few pieces. But not this time...almost everything fit like it was made for me!

I'm going to use a lot of caps in this blog because I want to emphasize how much LOVE this line. These Chelsea cropped white jeans are so comfortable! They're slim cut but not skin-tight and they don't wrinkle! They also make several different style pants and jeans, so there's something for every body type.

Fabrizio-Gianni's tops are the best....really really great. I love the color of this 3/4 sleeve jersey knit top in Strawberry Tang. The color is so vibrant and looks fabulous with denim or white. There is just enough looseness around the mid-section to be comfortable without looking baggy.

Denim jackets can be boxy, but not this one (which I ordered in denim and black --see below).

Their jackets not only have a ton of stretch (so they move with you,) but also have great lines that hug your body and give you shape. And did I mention that they're SUPER comfy?

Here's the black version paired with the white jeans.

You can bend, stretch, sit and breathe in these jeans....COMFORTABLY!

I also love this tassel necklace ---it comes in a set with one longer and one shorter necklace. You can wear them as a pair or on their own. It comes in a variety of beautiful colors.
