Distressed jeans over 50?

I'm often asked asked if women over 50 can wear distressed jeans---the answer is a big YES!

Here's a way to wear them.

I paired the jeans with a cold shoulder top in the most fabulous shade of blue. This top is so comfy I could wear it every day!

I'm carrying a super chic, lightweight and very roomy Jetzy Bags in a gorgeous gunmetal color and my bracelets are from Mack and Jane (I'm in love with this line!).

And let's talk about these FABULOUS shoes from Jax and Bard. I adore this company and the owner (and also shoe designer) Jax herself! She recently donated boxes and boxes of new shoes to Uncommon Threads!

There is a "common thread" in this blog. All of the small businesses featured are WOMAN OWNED!

These photos were taken in the backyard of the house we're renting. The owners have three adorable chickens and they're super friendly! I'm going to miss them when we move!

In a few weeks we'll be moving to our new house.

It's been a roller coaster of a year with lots of uncertainty and stress. However I'm grateful to have had a super cute place to live and the nicest landlords on the planet. A surprise pop of animal print

Happy 2017 everyone!

I'm a huge fan of camel and black and of course faux fur and animal print...so I combined all 4 in this outfit!

A cream chunky wool sweater is a winter staple. It goes with everything! Here are similar pieces all on sale (after Christmas sales are a wonderful thing!).

I paired the versatile sweater with a classic camel coat that has a fabulous fur collar (love this one and this one too) and cropped black jeans with an unfinished hem (very similar HERE).

This bag is super old, but still cherished. I love the bold gold hardware. Other styles HERE and HERE.

I own several necklaces from Bittersweet Designs, but I think this baroque pearl number is my favorite. I also love this necklace which is less expensive HERE.

But the best part of this outfit are these super cool black suede Rockport boots with a surprise pop of animal print in the back.

They're not only gorgeous, but very comfy since the heel is a mere 2'' and the innersole is cushioned to perfection. Find them HERE.

No ordinary watch

I'm a watch girl. I wear one almost every day. I just don't feel "dressed" without a watch. It's an accessory necessity for me.

So when Jord asked me to style one of their watches, of course I said yes! The website photos looked great, but honestly I was blown away how stunning their watches are in person! I am wearing the Reece Series--Zebrawood and Emerald watch.

Now this my friends, is no ordinary watch---it's handcrafted from wood and is truly a work of art. There are several things I love about this watch in addition to the way it looks (gorgeous). It's super lightweight, which makes it super comfy. It's easy to get on and off (some watches are a big pain!). It's UNIQUE plus it's packaged so beautifully (great gift). And last but not least, the company has a huge heart. They gave me an extra watch as a way to raise money for Uncommon Threads, the nonprofit I recently launched.

I could go on and on about how great this Jord watch is but I also want to tell you about the rest of the outfit...especially these Patricia Green boots!

Patricia Green sent me these Maine boots several weeks ago and they're so comfy and toasty that I've been wearing them all the time. The leather is buttery soft and the boots are surprisingly lightweight! They're like wearing sneakers!

The shearling cuff can go up or down, giving the boots two slightly different looks. I like them both ways.

For this cozy outfit, I pulled out my heavy black faux fur vest (similar here and here), teal sweater (similar here and $11.90!) and super comfy high waisted black skinny jeans.
