Here's a modern work dress idea that will take you from the office to dinner.
I love the mix of tweed and faux leather on this Laundry by Shelli Segal dress--the detailing adds a touch of "chic" yet it's totally work appropriate.
Laundry is a fabulous line---their fit and styling really works for so many women.
Although this dress is sold out, here is a similar version.
Working hard at Gianna Design Group in North Andover, MA. Cathy and I loved shooting here...the home furnishings are just gorgeous and there were so many beautiful spaces to photograph.

This dress has amazing lines--I love the defined waistband and elongating vertical stripe. When dress shopping, look for these types of details that create curves in the right places.

I paired this dress with a structured bag by Väska, sold at La Mia Moda Boutique and Aquatalia leather and suede wedge ankle boots that add a little "edge" to the outfit. Pumps or high boots would work as well.

Final check before I head out for dinner after a long work day.
No wrinkles--another reason to love this dress!
Ready to go!
Cheers!
Thanks to Gianna Design for providing their beautiful space for this shoot.
After spending a day in the store, I want to redecorate my whole house!
Big thank you to Cathy Trainor for her photography talents.

I love easy casual pieces that can effortlessly transition from day to night like this quilted sweatshirt . (see links to other styles below). The thick soft fabric makes it cozy and warm and the quilted design jazzes things up a bit (a huge step-up from the gym sweatshirt!). I've worn this piece with everything from sneakers and jeans to leather pants and heels!
Here I've paired the sweatshirt with DL skinny black jeans (from Dresscode Andover), classic black pumps, a long tassel necklace and this gorgeous VÄSKA bag (from La Mia Moda Boutique). If skinny jeans aren't your thing, check out straight or bootcut styles.
Allow me to introduce you to VÄSKA bags... minimalist structured handbags that are all handcrafted.
If you're looking for a bag that will last forever and always stay in style, this is your baby.
I'm in love...sigh!
So the moral of this story is to add a few stylish sweatshirts to your fall wardrobe--you will get so much use out of them!
Happy Columbus Day everyone!

This Kokun fringe open cardigan is a big "must-have" for fall. The neutral color goes with just about everything and it can be worn with jeans, work pants, a dress, a skirt...you name it! It's soft and cozy, covers the mid-section and hits at just the right place. Plus fringe is totally on trend this season!
Paired with DL Instasculpt skinny jeans with amazing 4-way stretch, this outfit is perfect for drinks with the girls. I feel kind of cool and hip wearing a little fringe (for an almost 54 year old that is!). Both pieces are from the fabulous Dress Code in Andover, MA.
Grabbing a bottle of wine and I'm off!
Oops, running late. Gold rhinestone embellished watch by Michael Kors.
These DL Instasculpt jeans are so comfy---they move with you, stretch and the rise is just perfect. Find them at Dress Code. Mention I sent you for a special 10% off discount!
If skinny jeans aren't your thing, try the DL Curvy Straight--fabulous for curvy
or pear-shaped figures and also available at Dress Code.

I recently taped a television segment for (NECN) at Thirty Petals Boutique in Belmont, MA. I've known the owner Erica for many years now --she is truly one of the sweetest people ever, and her boutique reflects all of her special qualities. Thirty Petals is a warm and inviting store that makes you feel at home the minute you walk through the door. The clothes and accessories are unique, reasonably priced and different from the mainstream piece you'll find in the large department stores.
While at Thirty Petals, I fell in love with this Joseph Ribkoff black lattice jacket. We all need that one special piece that makes a statement and this jacket is it! The mix of leather and sheer detailing gives it sophistaction with a bit of an edge (I also love the lightweight arm coverage!). I'll be wearing this jacket in other blogs to show off it's versatility...here I've paired with a simple white dress and black pumps.

Can I fix you a drink? Don't worry, I didn't really drink on the job.
This stunning black and white MR. bag pulls the color scheme together nicely (find the line here). This outfit can easily transition from work to dinner out.

This works so much better than my readers!
The detail on this jacket is incredible and I love that it will go with everything from jeans to a little black dress. Take a trip over to Thirty Petals in Belmont, MA to try it on for yourself. Mention I sent you for 20% off your purchase! Happy shopping!

Here's an outfit that can go from summer right into fall. Pair a pair of black jeans with a gray scoop neck tee and top with a blush jacket or blazer. Add a cage sandal for a slightly edgy look.
Gorgeous, modern and very chic! Click the photos for details.
