Distressed jeans over 50?

Tuesday, June 05, 2018

I'm often asked asked if women over 50 can wear distressed jeans---the answer is a big YES!
Here's a way to wear them.
I recently learned of Poppy and Co owned by Katy Nicolls (a sister social worker!).  She also has a passion for fashion and recently launched a small coveted collection of reasonably priced clothes that fit FABULOUSLY!

These boyfriend jeans are perfect in so many ways.  The mid-rise is comfortable and hits at the right spot. There's "just" enough distressing going on to look "cool" but not overdone. And the price is right at just $79.99!  But even better, take 20% off with code SUSAN20.  You will love these jeans.
I paired the jeans with a cold shoulder top in the most fabulous shade of blue. This top is so comfy I could wear it every day!
I love the high-low hem and the looseness that camouflages my ever expanding muffin top, the result of a year of not exercising!
I'm carrying a super chic, lightweight and very roomy Jetzy Bags in a gorgeous gunmetal color and my bracelets are from Mack and Jane (I'm in love with this line!).
And let's talk about these FABULOUS shoes from Jax and Bard. I adore this company and the owner (and also shoe designer) Jax herself! She recently donated boxes and boxes of new shoes to Uncommon Threads!

There is a "common thread" in this blog. All of the small businesses featured are WOMAN OWNED
These photos were taken in the backyard of the house we're renting.  The owners have three adorable chickens and they're super friendly! I'm going to miss them when we move!
Say "hi" to the girls.
In a few weeks we'll be moving to our new house.
It's been a roller coaster of a year with lots of uncertainty and stress.  However I'm grateful to have had a super cute place to live and the nicest landlords on the planet. If you follow me on IG, you'll be seeing photos of my new home soon!  Thank you to everyone for your support during a very trying year.

XO Susan

The Poppy and Co outfit, Jetzy bag, Mack and Jane bracelets and Jax and Bard shoes were gifted, but I only post what I love (and I LOVE these pieces!).  Promise.

  1. I don’t know Susan, I just have a feeling that things are arching up for you and that better times are to come. I mean look...being a Chicken whisper seems to have made a positive impact in your life already hehehehe. Seriously it’s funny you talk about destressed jeans, I do like them, a lot, BUT so does my daughters and their friends. So how do I incorporate this look without “trying” to look like by daughters, what degree of distressing is acceptable. I see all my other blogger Hero’s sporting them and you all look so fab in them......

    1. Ha!!! Now there's a career change for me!!! Here's the trick for distressed jeans. Keep the rest of your outfit SIMPLE...nothing flashy, minimal jewelry, etc. I like these jeans because they're not super distressed--just enough ripping for me :) Closing is pushed off a week. Story of my life lately :( XOXO
