A splash of orange

Monday, March 21, 2016

Orange is in this spring.  It's bright and fun, but SO hard for some women to wear! I for one, can't pull off the color unless it's a deep shade of coral/orange...true orange looks harsh on me. But fear not---there are lots of ways to add this uplifting color to your wardrobe!  Here are my tips for wearing splashy orange this season:

1.  Don't wear orange head to toe---don't even try to match up accessories. This is a statement color that should be used as an accent. Too many orange pieces will look matchy-matchy.
2.  One way to wear a tough color like orange is to mix it with a shade that flatters your skin-tone. I love orange with navy, cobalt blue, white, and turquoise!
3. Avoid orange with black---save it for Halloween.
4. Incorporate orange in a print, which can be softer than a solid. Love the dress below!
5. Add color with accessories such as a statement necklace, earrings, watch or bag.
6. Wear orange on your feet! I love an orange sandal or sneaker---so summery!

  1. Great picks! I love the orange earrings (and I totally agree that the orange and black look should be saved for Halloween!)

  2. A pop of orange is great. Other great pops are apple green, yellow and turquoise. Especially if you love the color, but can't wear it near the face, an accessory is the answer.
