Faux fur and stripes
Monday, February 01, 2016
Mixing things up can be fun when it comes to clothes... I love combining high-end with low-end, dressy with casual, and yes stripes with faux fur.
Here I've paired two casual pieces, J. Crew high rise black jeans (yay for high-rise!) and a striped tee (similar here) with patent leather loafers and a camel wool coat with a fabulous faux fur collar (similar & on sale HERE and HERE ).
We're back at Robin's Egg, a fabulous antique shop in Milford, NH, having way too much fun exploring all the treasures. I love the old suitcases--they make me want to take a trip around the world!
A touch of faux fur adds glam.
A structured black bag is perfect for every day. Similar HERE .
Patent leather always dresses things up a bit! Check out these patent leather loafers HERE and HERE.
What do you think? Too "Mary Poppins" looking?
Teeny tiny baby shoes are SO sweet!! Alyssa, when are you going to give me a grandchild?
(no pressure of course)
Hats off to playing dress-ups at age 54. I'm having way too much fun!

Great look, Susan! I love casual stripes with a dressier coat! The coat is absolutely gorgeous by the way! Amazing location for your shoot, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea! We had a lot of fun shooting at Robin's Egg...what an amazing place!
DeleteI think striped shirts look great dressed up or dressed down. Classic and timeless.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree...stripes are so versatile! Thanks for posting :)

ReplyDeleteThank you Jennifer!
DeleteLoving your camel coat! I always buy black coats, but I must buy a camel coat next year :-)
ReplyDeleteMonica.
Thanks Monica! Camel is a great color because it goes with everything (yay for neutrals!). Just be sure that the shade of camel is flattering to your skin-tone. The sales are great right now---just saying....
