The merlot mixed media coat

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

I bought this mixed media coat last season. It was one of those purchases that I questioned. Would I wear it enough? Was it practical? I'm so glad I didn't return it as it's become one of my favorite coats!

If you're wondering what exactly mixed media means, it's simple. It's the use of different fabrics and textures. This coat has a mix of wool and leather which makes it interesting and modern. Here is a similar coat.

Cathy and I recently shot several outfits at Robin's Egg
a magical antique store located in Milford, NH.
Don't you love the color of the building?

Antique shopping requires comfortable clothes! Here I'm wearing a simple black skirt and tweed sweater (warm and comfy). The coat adds a pop of color to the black palette. These Aquatalia boots are pricey, but worth every penny as the suede is waterproof and holds up in inclement weather. I've had them for 4 years now and they still look like new.  If you're in the market for some Aquatalias, they're on sale! HERE and HERE

This leather bag by Ivanka Trump easily converts from a shoulder bag, to a handbag, to cross-body. It's super versatile and very light-weight (something that's important for my neck issues).

Cathy and I fell in love with this fabulous antique bike!
How fun would it be to cruise around in this baby?
