A Fashion Affair to Remember

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

The Merrimack Valley certainly isn't known as a hub spot for high fashion events. We don't pretend to be NY or LA, but last Thursday night The North Andover West Mills was transformed into a chic and glamorous venue for the largest fashion show to ever hit the area. A Fall Fashion Affair, sponsored by Lawrence General Hospital and Northshore Magazine brought the latest collections to the runway from such designers as Diane von Furstenberg, Nicole Miller, Trina Turk and Badgley Mischka (to name a few). The show also focused on local talent such as NY designer Darby Scott (new to North Andover) and Amy Finegold's collaborative effort with
Vietnamese designer Anna Vo called Dresscode Anna Vo.

The West Mill building was transformed into a "club scene" complete with music, purple lights, and numerous bars (with really cool drinks!).  I had to step back and remind myself I where I was...."no this is not New York City, it's North Andover!"

I was surprised at how many men attended the event!
You have to admire a guy who is willing to go to a fashion show,
I left my husband at home (sorry Richard).

Lawrence General Hospital was well represented by (from left to right)  Dr. Nancy Landay, Deb Wilson, Chief Financial Officer and Jill McDonald, APR, Chief Marketing and Communication Officer.

The event was such a fun "girls night out" and these girlfriends were having a blast.

I brought my amazing intern Sarah Stiles (tweed jacket) who has her own style blog and my dear friends photographer Emily O'Brien and nutritionist/trainer Sandi Piasecki.  By the way, I'm wearing a C/MEO Collective top from La Mia Moda Boutique in Andover.

Most fashion shows feature clothes that are either "too out there" or designed for a six-foot runway model. However Fall Fashion Affair showcased styles that were actually wearable! From work attire to evening wear, each look was on-point, relatable and simply stunning.

The other unique feature of the show was that in between sets, the designers and stylists were invited to join MC and Northshore Magazine Publisher Kelly Schetzsle on the runway to talk about their businesses and style philosophy.

Kudos to North Shore Magazine for putting on this truly amazing event and for
bringing "life and fashion" to The Merrimack Valley.
Can we do it again soon?
