The Midlife Fashionista: comfy clothes

Black Jumpsuit and a Lobster Roll

Some of the links in this post may generate a small commission, but know that I only post what I love!

Last weekend felt like summer. The weather was warm and the convertible was waiting for us, so Richard and I went for a ride up the coast for a lobster roll.

We landed at a little lobster shack in Rye Harbor, NH and found a beautiful spot to eat. I savored every bite--lobster is one of my favorite foods. BIG YUM!

Here's what I wore.

I just can't get enough jumpsuits in my life. They're SO comfy and versatile.

Although this one is no longer in stock, here's another that I own and love. Size down, it's roomy.

Shop here.

I also own this Eileen Fisher jumpsuit and wear it constantly, both dressed up or down.

Highly recommend.

As with all Eileen Fisher, the cut is generous.

And here are some other suggestions too.

HERE (just $26.90) and HERE

My bag is from MZ Wallace. I have a bit of an obsession with their bags and own quite a few. The line is pricey, but in my opinion, worth the money. However, there are lots of similar bags for a fraction of the price too. This one is under $50.00!

I'm also wearing my comfiest sneakers. I own them in white and black...they're amazing!

Shop here.

I'm a huge fan of The Freshwater Pearl Company. Not only is their jewelry stunning and reasonably priced, but the owner Brian has become a dear friend. He started the business in honor of his amazing mom who passed away from breast cancer and he gives back to many important causes, including cancer research and Uncommon Threads.

Shop the Amanda necklace here--it's one of my favorites.

And of course, no casual outfit would be complete without a denim jacket.

HERE and HERE (see below--just $22.49 and I love the cropped cut!).

A few photos from our glorious day. Rye, NH is gorgeous. Have you been?

Of course, no lobster roll day is complete without an ice cream.

I chose M&M because my favorite flavor peppermint-stick was out of stock. I have say that I was a bit disappointed, but it didn't stop me from eating the entire dish!

If there's one thing that cancer has taught me, it's to enjoy every moment.

The little things are the big ones.

Thanks for stopping by.

xx Susan

Transitional outfit

casual outfit

It can be tough to figure out what to wear this time of the year.

Here's an outfit that will work right now and into the cooler months.

A loose fitting sweater will three-quarter sleeves is seansonless. To warm things up, just layer it over a long sleeve tee or throw a cozy cape on top. Switch up sandals for ankle boots and you're ready for the cooler weather!

This sweater is by Kensie but the store's link is broken. I'll try to get it to you once it gets fixed. In the meantime, here are some other similar styles HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE (serious mark-down).

I use this Juju Bagz metalllic tote all the time.

It's light-weight, incredibly durable and under $60.00!

Going up!

Going down...the story of my life!

My jeans are by AG. Ankle length jeans are super versatile as they work with flats or heels and can easily be tucked into boots.

Watch by Michele--check out this very similar style for under $55.00 (almost identical for a fraction of the price!!!). I layered the watch with a leather bracelet (similar HERE and HERE) and silver bangle.

The BEST shoe purchase I made all summer are these metallic Sofft sandals (on sale now!). They are so comfy that I also bought them in luggage.

Shoe admiration...you know what I mean, right?

What does midlife look like? Whatever you want it to! Welcome to my blog, where I share about style, beauty, and lifestyle for those who agree that age has no limits. While health and wellness play an essential role, I believe looking your best helps you feel your best, regardless of where you are on your journey. I also believe when women support and encourage one another, we all benefit, which is why I founded Uncommon Threads, a nonprofit, and co-founded Kicking Cancer in Heels, a community aimed at empowering women impacted by cancer.
