This outfit will take you out in COMFORT!

These black stretch mid-rise jeans by AG feel so good on.

I paired them with a loose silky royal blue top with a little flounce. Very similar top HERE (marked down to $19.99!).

To dress things up even more, I added a sequin clutch in shades of blue. Here are other sparkly clutches that are a fun way to jazz up your wardrobe HERE and HERE and HERE.

I also have these BP sandals in nude. I like the mid-heel and simple design. Patent leather is a great way to dress up an outfit. Here's a wedge version for even more comfort.

I'm wearing minimal jewelry with this look...part of the reason is my "less is more" style, but it's also because I wanted this fabulous blue top to stand out on its own. However I did add silver hoop earrings and my David Yurman onyx ring for "a little something extra".

White jacket

I found a fabulous little consignment shop called Mademoiselle of Middleton where I fell in love with this white quilted jacket.

You can never have enough jackets. A great fitting jacket will add polish and sophistication to a simple outfit...not to mention it's slimming!

I paired the jacket with a lightweight white crew-neck sweater and a slim fitting pair of black ankle jeans.

All of these pieces are easy to wear, great for most body shapes, and super versatile.

A wine colored bag and matching shoes pull in color.

I love that these pumps have low heel! Hurray for being able to walk in a pair of shoes!

This baroque pearl necklace has become one of my favorite pieces.

Leather sweatshirt and animal print clutch

A night out with the girls at a swanky bar calls for an edgy outfit.

Voila the leather sweatshirt. Similar HERE.

Leather looks super chic and classy-- especially paired with the right accessories.

Even though my outfit is all black, I've added interest by mixing textures (leather, denim and suede). I also chose this animal print clutch to spice things up a bit. Similar HERE and HERE.

Pearls are so classic, but these chunky baroque pearls

from Bittersweet Designs are anything but conservative!

When I'm on my feet for an extended period of time, I find wedges to be more comfy than heels. Here are some similar styles HERE and HERE (LOVE!).

Time for bed--I just can't stay out as late as I used to!

Leather jacket and tassel necklace

I can't live without my leather jacket---ok, leather jackets. I'm addicted! Honestly, a fitted leather jacket is such a wardrobe staple...you can wear it with everything from jeans to a lace dress. It gives off a modern and slightly edgy vibe, which I love. Plus you can wear this jacket almost all year round!

Here I've paired this glove-soft black leather jacket with a simple white sweater, black high rise jeans, pumps and this gorgeous tassel necklace from Love and Pieces (very reasonably priced!).

A metallic clutch (similar) dresses things up by adding a little shine. I love this one too.

Bag love

Yes it may be Valentine's Day, but I'm in love with a bag. I bought this fabulous Cynthia Rowley satchel last fall while in Charleston, SC. I adore the pop of blue! Similar versions HERE and HERE. Love this bright blue clutch too!

I kept this outfit fairly simple with black Current Elliot high waisted jeans, a Joie cream sweater and stunning chunky baroque pearls from Bittersweet Designs.

I can't wear super large watches but this gold Michael Kors works well for my wrist size.

I don't feel "dressed" unless I'm wearing a watch.

Simple black pumps keep things elegant, but not overly dressy. HERE 's a lower heeled version too.

Nothing like a cup of hot tea on a cold winter's day--and boy has it been cold in Boston!
It was 8 below this morning!

I admit it, I'm in bag love.

Be sure to hug your favorite bag every day to let it know how much you care!

Thanksgiving and the tie neck blouse

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week! Where does the time go?

Whether you're hosting the feast or visiting family, here's a simple yet elegant outfit idea.

Setting the table at Gianna Interiors (no, my table never looks this good in real life!) wearing an olive silk tie front blouse and 7 for All Mankind slim illusion high-waisted black jeans. These stretchy jeans expand exceptionally well to accommodate overeating, which I plan to do a lot of.

I love the feminine detail of this blouse. Yes, you can "tie it in a knot or tie it in a bow", but I prefer to let the pieces hang. It's not as "prim and proper" this way and maybe even a bit sexier.

I paired this outfit with comfy black pumps and a fabulous animal print patent leather bag.

My bag was a boutique find --similar here.

Notice the beautiful Christmas decorations in the background.

Just FIVE more shopping weekends until the big day! Scary isn't it?

Earrings by Luxa Jewelry. I love their unique chandeliers because they're very lightweight and don't pull on my earlobes.

Black and Blue

Sometimes a few great pieces are all you need. to make a statement

Today's outfit is a royal blue Joan Vass flowy top similar here and here with black Joe's ankle jeans. I love this color combination--the vivid shade of blue looks so fresh when paired with black.

What sold me on this top was the cowl back. I love feminine details.

I bought this statement necklace on sale at J. Crew last season similar here--I wear it all the time with everything from a tee and jeans to a cocktail dress. Gold clutch from J. Crew Factory Store and peep toe black suede slingback similar here. Notice I haven't loaded on the jewelry --the bold color of the top and statement necklace hold their own. Plus I'm a big believer that less is more.

Life doesn't get much better than this!
