Baby it's cold outside!

December was ridiculously warm. We had to run our air conditioner on Christmas Eve--it was nearly 70 degrees! Now the temps are back where they should be for this time of the year and it feels SO cold! I got spoiled.
So if we have to dress warm, we might as well do it in style. Here I'm wearing an army green down parka with a faux-fur hood that I purchased a few years ago. I love the color because it's a neutral and goes with just about everything--plus it breaks my black coat habit.

I just love faux-fur--but you already knew that, right?
I paired the jacket with this fabulous Michael Kors camo infinity scarf that's super warm.
I punched in some color with a burgundy leather cross body bag..similar styles HERE HERE and HERE. I love these colors together!
Strolling around Andover, MA--a beautiful town with rich history and an amazing downtown
shopping area. My roots are here--I grew up in Andover and my mom still lives in the same house!
These tall Donald Pliner boots are incredibly comfortable and warm. I also love the distressed texture which makes them interesting and fun.
Similar Donald Pliner boot with buckles HERE (on sale!).
Skinny jeans work best for tucking into boots. These are by Joe's.
Cathy and I were so happy to find this fire-pit at Andover Village Square,
where we stopped to warm up.
And have coffee from Mr. Gelato Cafe.
I'm a huge dog lover so of course I couldn't miss the opportunity to grab a photo with the gorgeous Sophie who was out for a walk with her owner.
Sophie's probably thinking "get this lunatic away from me".
Stay stylishly warm!
XO Susan

Hi Susan, I'm 50, working on my MSW and a budding "midlife fashionista" as well! I just read your interview on Fabulous After 40. I love social work but I am developing my own "fashionista style!" I LOVE finding designer pieces at second-hand or thrift stores! My favorite finds are an aqua blue Land's End goose down jacket and a red Calvin Klein trench coat. Both pieces cost around $15! I look forward to following your blog and being inspired by your killer midlife style!
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth! Thanks for introducing yourself! Love that you're a social worker too :) Nice thrift shop finds..I'd love to see a photo! Nothing like a good bargain! XO

ReplyDeleteThank you so much XO
DeleteLove all, but especially the cross body bag. Much better looking than a shoulder bag IMO.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Nina! It's easier on the neck too :)
DeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI just discovered you on IG. Your grid is beautiful and I'm enjoying catching up with your pictures. Although one of my sisters went to Andover for HS, I never visited her there :(
Happy New Year. Britta
