Navy maxi

Monday, June 20, 2016

Let me start off by telling you that this was the toughest shoot I've ever been on.
A few weeks ago, I broke in my new "stand-in photographer" hubby Richard. We shot at The Envoy's swanky rooftop bar in Boston. Up on the roof, the wind was whipping and rain was falling...not good for make-up, hair or clothes!

My pashmina was blowing in the wind which looked kind of cool, although I almost lost it a few times. Lookout below!

You have to admit, the view is gorgeous even in the rain.

A quick brush of the hair and I'm going under the covered area to stay dry.

So let me tell you about my outfit.
I'm all about a maxi dress this year and I adore this navy
version by Survival from Lyn Evans. It actually has a lining to smooth things out (love that!). It's such an elegant dress and versatile too--you can dress it up or down.

I'm going for the boho look here. After all, a hip bar deserves a hip outfit!  I paired the dress with a fabulous feather scarf that doubles as a wrap. It's lightweight and gauzy--perfect for summer! The scarf is also from Lyn Evans and can be found on their website (it's very reasonable!).

I kept my sandals simple. These nude suede wedges from J. Crew are not too high, so they're super comfy. You probably see them in a lot of my photos--they go with everything!

Wearing a fabulous leather necklace by Knot Just Pearls from Lyn Evans. It's casual design keeps in line with the boho theme. You can't see it in the photo, but the tassel has silver strands with little crystals...it's gorgeous! My blue lapis ring was a gallery find. I am in love this color! Similar HERE and HERE

So what do you do when you're hair is a wind blown mess and you're getting soaked? Drink of course.

A simple navy leather clutch and aviator sunglasses keep things down to earth and go nicely with the wine bottle.

And of course by the time we were done, the sun came out.
Isn't that always the way?

Cheers to Richard and thank you honey for being such a good sport in addition to a fabulous photographer.

Also thank you to Lyn Evans for collaborating and to The Envoy Hotel for a fabulous weekend and use of their rooftop bar.  When in Boston, The Envoy is a must!

XO Susan
